Beer Tent – Bartender

Shifts:

Friday July 20

Duties include serving alcohol to participants and attendees in a fast-paced environment; restocking beer tubs, pop and liquor as needed; and assisting satellite beer tub person as required. Must be Serve it Safe (previously known as It's Good Business) certified.

You may enjoy this position if you are outgoing and friendly; have the ability to multi-task and work at a fast pace; like an excuse to chat up the opposite sex.

Beer Tent – Ticket Sales

Shifts:

Friday July 20

Saturday July 21
10:30am – 1:30pm
1:30pm – 4:30pm
4:30pm – 7:30pm
7:30pm – 10:30pm
10:30pm – 1:00am

Duties include handling cash; selling tickets for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages; and ensuring everyone purchasing tickets has a wristband.

You may enjoy this position if you want close access to the beer tent; don't like to stand for long periods of time; like being in a position of power.

Merchandise Sales

Shifts:

Friday July 20
5:30pm – 8:30pm
8:30pm – 12:00am
 
Saturday July 21
10:30am – 2:30pm
2:30pm – 6:30pm
6:30pm – 11:30pm

Duties include setting up, merchandising, restocking and selling band merchandise.

You may enjoy this position if you like to feel like you are part of the band or if you are an extreme groupie.

Venue Set-Up/Take Down

Shifts:

Thursday July 19
3:00pm – 6:00pm
7:00pm – 10:00pm

Friday July 20
10:00am - 2:00pm

Saturday July 21
7:00pm - 10:00pm

Sunday July 21
9:00am - 12:00pm

Duties include assisting with the set-up of the beer tent and volleyball courts.
You may enjoy this position if you like to feel helpful; want to work on your fitness.

Front Gate

Shifts:

Friday July 20
5:00pm – 8:30pm
8:30pm – 11:30pm

Saturday July 21
10:30am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 5:30pm
5:30pm – 9:00pm

Duties include handling the cash sale of tickets and collecting pre-purchased tickets at the entrance to the venue.

You may enjoy this position if you like to be the first to scope out the crowd; enjoy a feeling of authority.

Volunteer Headquarters

Shifts:

8:00pm – 11:00pm
11:00pm – 1:00am

Saturday July 21
10:30am – 1:30pm
1:30pm – 4:30pm
4:30pm – 7:30pm
7:30pm – 10:30pm

Duties include assisting with the check in and check out of volunteers for each shift; monitoring personal belongings of volunteers at the HQ; making sure food and beverages are stocked at all times; keeping the HQ clean and tidy.

You may enjoy this position if you sunburn easily; can entertain yourself for a few hours; like a seat close to the food/water/Red Bull.

Tournament Administration

Shifts:

Friday July 20
5:00pm – 10:00pm

Saturday July 21
10:00am – 2:00pm
2:00pm – 6:00pm
6:00pm – 9:00pm

Duties include assisting with tracking of scores, tracking of tournament details, time keeping needs, and providing schedule information to participants.

You may enjoy this position if you like volleyball; can count; want to spend some time in the sun.

Stage Crew

Shifts:

Friday July 20
12:00pm – 11:00pm

Saturday July 21
9:00am – 11:00pm

Duties include assisting with stage set-up for the bands performing. Long shifts; however, work is intermittent (ie. approx. every half hour).  Must be able to lift and move stage equipment.
You may enjoy this position if you want to chill with the band; enjoy flexing your muscles.

Shinerama – Clean-Up Crew

Shifts:

Friday July 20
5:00pm – 9:30pm
9:30pm – 2:00am

Saturday July 21
11:00am – 4:00pm
4:00pm – 9:00pm
9:00pm – 11:30pm
11:30pm - 2:00am

Duties include collecting all empty beer cans and keeping the venue clean of debris and ensuring that garbage bags are emptied on a regular basis. Proceeds from beer cans will support the University of Manitoba’s Shinerama campaign (in support of cystic fibrosis).

You may enjoy this position if you are a commerce student; like to feel good about helping out (and don't mind getting a little beer on yourself!).
