Super-Spike is thrilled to welcome high-energy Canadian rockers Monster Truck as this years event headliner! Since their debut album, Furiosity, Monster Truck has been putting Hamilton, Ontario on the rock ‘n’ roll map. Their blue-collar rock songs have a no-frills style that mixes groove, sludge, stoner rock, and vintage sounds.
The raucous quartet has been touring in road warrior style, playing blistering shows and supporting the mighty Guns n Roses, Slash, Alice in Chains, ZZ Top, Buckcherry, Rival Sons, and Vista Chino. Now they’re back with more horns-up, heads-down swaggering Southern rock in their latest album, Sittin’ Heavy — a glorious hard rocking statement with everything that enabled Monster Truck to break out of the box.
“Monster Truck is one of the few really great down to earth rock ‘n’ roll bands... they’re hard, soulful and heavy” – Slash

Super-Spike is pumped to have Canadian Rock Pop Quartet The Elwins headline the main stage on Friday night! Taking the best bits of pop and rock music from the past five decades (despite the guys having only been alive for a little over two), The Elwins have delivered a dose of dancy bliss that appeals to virtually anyone. “We definitely like making songs that make people want to move,” Sweeney says – and move they will. It’s a broad range of influence, but effortlessly blended and easily identifiable as The Elwins.
One could say “feeling good” is at the very core of what The Elwins are all about, and nowhere is that more apparent than a live show, where the electric exchange of energy blurs the line between band and audience – sometimes sweaty, usually lively, always fun
It’s all about the moment. When you step into The Pistolwhips world, the moment is all that matters. Hailing from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, the band has worked tirelessly to bring listeners out of the daily grind and into a series of life changing moments. Blending an incredible mix of indie rock hooks, with monster rock choruses, this is a band that leaves it all on the table for you.
Holed up in the pop culture hinterland of Winnipeg, VIKINGS has been crafting big melodies and headlining festivals without leaving the walls of their prairie ice palace. It's not often anyone breaks out of here – but VIKINGS has places to be. It's a sound you'd expect in London, Los Angeles, or Atlanta. But Winnipeg? Maybe its true, and there's something in that frozen water that's growing big sounds in a quiet little town.
Focusing on those big sounds and the spaces in between, VIKINGS' music is equal parts dance-worthy and expansive synth trip. Featuring the earworm vocals of Josh Youngson, long ago punk-singer now falsetto-wielding crowd-mover. He is flanked by two brothers – Dave and James McNabb, each manning a bastion of synths. Luke Janzen (drums) adds the foundation, taking VIKINGS out of the box and onto the dance floor.
Spending her time these days writing and recording in Nashville TN, Leanne Pearson has been described by industry folk as level headed, mature, sweet, funny and very talented. This country rocker walks on stage with a pretty dress and a big smile, then shatters your expectations with her edgy stage presence. “Get Outta My Heart” hit Top 48 on the Canadian Country Music Charts. CMT added the quirky music video, which turned heads across the country. The follow up single “The Only Thing” hit Top 90. Her latest single, I Wanna Be More, garnered over 125,000 spins on Spotify in the first 3 months. The flirty music video was just added to several major networks across the U.S. putting Leanne in front of millions.
Deep Dark Cave
Deep Dark Cave is like the best cocktail you’ve ever had. Five very different and unique ingredients mixed into a luscious concoction that leaves you with a buzz & wanting more. Winnipeg indie rock band Deep Dark Cave is a new project on the Canadian music scene, but the players are no strangers to the music industry. Created by five musicians with strong creative input & desire, Deep Dark Cave recently completed their demo and are working towards a debut full-length album. Their style has been compared to Kings of Leon, A Silent Film, Atlas Genius and The Killers to name a few.
Lead singer, Jeremy Koz (nominated for Best Male Rock Vocal at the Los Angeles Music Awards, former Canadian Idol top 22 contestant and former CBS show 'Rock Star INXS' top 30 contestant), along with lead guitar player Marc Jaworski, formed Deep Dark Cave in June of 2015.
The Middle Coast
There’s something to be said for a band that can simultaneously elicit a sense of nostalgia and new discovery; that perfectly balances an appreciation of the past with a youthful enthusiasm and mainstream ambitions. Meet The Middle Coast, the Manitoba trio whose self-described ‘70s-style yacht rock will be the new soundtrack to your dockside daydreams and breezy evening drives. Drawing on influences ranging from The Guess Who to The Eagles to Hall & Oates with tinges of Motown soul and Nashville twang, members Liam Duncan, Dylan MacDonald, and Roman Clarke have cemented their signature sound and attracted some impressive industry attention with their debut album, The Making Of: The Middle Coast. The album come on the heels of their heralded live show - born of hundreds of sets and thousands of hours logged in the van in just a few short years.
Growing up in war-torn Sri Lanka motivated Franklin Fernando to go to battle. But instead of taking up arms, he armed himself with a Fender Stratocaster. Along with Rasta percussionist Martin Valach, Fernando founded reggae outfit RasTamils – combining ‘Ras’ (Rastafarian) and ‘Tamils’ (Sri Lanka’s minority people) – to make music that reflects the hope of cultures around the world coming together. Their style is classic reggae rhythms of Dennis Brown, Gregory Isaacs, Sly & Robbie, and Bob Marley, combined with popular pop reggae sounds of Busy Signal and Christopher Martin, and simple ‘80s rock. Be excited to see these guys live!
The Dust Rhinos
From basement pubs to festival stages the Dust Rhinos have been bringing their particular brand of punk flavoured Irish trad to venues large, small, and otherwise since 1992. Blossoming from a trio of buskers to a 4-piece Celtic rock juggernaut, the Rhinos have tread the boards with acts as varied as The Dropkick Murphys, Gaelic Storm, Alabama, Leahy, the Barra MacNeils, and the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band. Whether a house concert, pub night, or festival (Dauphin Countryfest, Festival du Voyageur, Winnipeg Folk Festival, the Grey Cup Festival and counting!) the Rhinos’ controlled chaos will get people out of their seats, on the dance floor, and clamouring for One! More! Song
